File association

Is it possible to associate a crystal report from Windows explorer. In other words can you click on a crystal report and have it open with the viewer?

You can do this. I can't walk you through the steps in Windows, but it should be the standard method.

FYI, in TRV Pro, you can disable the ability to open a report by double clicking. This is for security. But, if you are having issues, perhaps you disabled it in the preferences menu.

There also may be a bug related to this in a very old version of the software. I doubt that's the case here, but if you are using an old version of TRV Pro, you might be hitting a bug.

When we tell the crystal report that it's default program to open is the viewer, we get the error that it is not a valid Win32 application.

Likely means that the software did not install completely. Try reinstalling the software.
