Software Update Addresses Problems With SSL DB Connections

The Report Viewer 3, 5, and 5 were updated today to fix problems that some users have experienced with SSL connections.

The Report Viewer Update

The Report Viewer was updated today.

All versions now have the ability to password protect the programs startup. That is, you can set a password to lock users out.

Version 4 was updated to use the SAP Crystal Reports 2008 (v12) SP4 runtime. It was previously using SP3.

New Versions of The Report Viewer and Added Legacy Versions

Today we uploaded three new versions of The Report Viewer. The major difference in each release is the version of the reporting engine.

We currently have the following releases:

The Report Viewer 5.0 is Released

The Report Viewer 5.0 includes the following new features:

  • Load the RPTR read-only report format
  • Export to Excel 2007
  • Based on the SAP Crystal Reports 2011, version 13, engine

The Report Viewer Version 4.6.8.3 Released

This version of the software includes a few performance improvements.

Version 4.6.7.9 Released

This fixes a bug that would cause some of the reports to load without their selection formula.

Version 4.6.5.1 Released

This release includes the following fixes:

  • Performance fixes. This version will load some larger reports much quicker.
  • Minor bug fixes.

The Report Viewer Version 4.6.1 Released

This release fixes a rare bug in export forms with a column width section. You should update to prevent this error.

The Report Viewer 4.5.2 Version Released

This version of the software fixes problems with the password protection of the user preferences.

The Report Viewer Version 4.5.1 Released

This version of the software contains a few bug fixes.

  • The problem with sending to application with type Excel data-only is fixed.
  • An unused control was removed from the options panel.
  • Fixed possible crash when closing a report.
